Project Runway contestant who shaded Karlie Kloss releases shirts featuring Kushner quip

Shade, but then make it fashion.

Former Project Runway contestant Tyler Neasloney is making the most of his 15 seconds of viral fame, which he garnered by calling out host Karlie Kloss’ connection to the Kushner family on last week’s episode of the reality show. After being eliminated from the competition, Neasloney is now selling T-shirts emblazoned with his eyebrow-raising quip “Not even to dinner with the Kushners?”

Neasloney first uttered those words when his design landed him in the bottom for failing to live up to the challenge of dressing Kloss for a CFDA event in Paris.

He said he was going for a “Montauk, Martha’s Vineyard, Cape Cod, Americana vibe,” but judge Brandon Maxwell critiqued the outfit, saying “I cannot see Karlie wearing it anywhere, honestly.”

Neasloney responded, “Not even to dinner with the Kushners?”

The interaction, which prompted Kloss’ jaw to drop, has since blown up on social media. Neasloney was referencing the supermodel’s marriage to Josh Kushner, the brother of presidential aide Jared Kushner, who is married to Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump.

Neasloney is selling the T-shirts for $35, in two different styles, with half of the proceeds benefiting the Ali Forney Center, which supports homeless LGBTQ youth.

Though Neasloney apologized to Kloss later in the episode, saying his words “had no hidden agenda, no meaning, no nothing like that,” we have a feeling she won’t be wearing these T-shirts to dinner with the Kushners either.

EW has reached out to Kloss’ representatives for comment.
