Jabber: Our young people in the USA do not know this. They are no longer being taught. US Capitalism is successful and the only thing that will feed and house and entertain the US people. Capitalism is a competition that absolutely everyone is encouraged to join. The reward for success in this competition for products and services is the dollar. And capitalist decisions and rewards are passed among the millions of competitors who are winning everyday, continuously. It's called "doing business". Our nation once operated very successfully, basically, on Capitalism alone. But there were always a number of people at the bottom whose life remained a pure hell because they had no dollars. So then we entered and recognized the need for some humanitarian social programs where the government simply writes some social welfare checks. This power to tax business dollars is never well controlled, and easily becomes abused. It can then morph into Socialism. I need to mention as a given, every nation needs a police force and court system to strongly regulate behavior and punish immoral activity that always results in all human behavior. It particularly occurs among the rich and powerful. ----- Socialism is when the government is staffed by people who promise more Capitalist business dollars to their constituents and claim to turn control of businesses over to the workers. The Socialists never actually want to or have an ability to manage the businesses as they claim. They just want more of the business dollars. Soon, the Capitalist system starts to break down. The winning leaders in the Socialist government are given total control of the nation's former businesses. The money confiscation by the socialist leaders in the government may start out small but they always want and take more as time goes on. And the few government leaders make the rules on how they get it. The decisions and rewards tops out with a very few people. Then they hand out the rewards, however they want to. Eventually all the former millions of decisions in capitalism fail and disappear. There is no more usable money left to confiscate. Each dollar lost all the value it once represented. It is always a very difficult balancing act that can easily get out of control.
