Priyanka Chopra is responding to an "awkward" interaction between her and Rosie O'Donnell that the comedian aired on TikTok over the weekend.

On Sunday, O'Donnell took to the platform to share her story of running into Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas at a restaurant in which O'Donnell mistakenly assumed the Indian actress was the daughter of Indian-American author Deepak Chopra.

"Seated next to us at Malibu at Nobu was Nick Jonas and his wife, 'someone' Chopra, which I always assumed was Deepak Chopra’s daughter," O'Donnell explained, clearly unaware of Priyanka Chopra's first name.

"So when I said, 'Hi Nick Jonas, you were great in Kingdom,' and 'Hi I know your dad,' she goes, 'You do? Who's my dad?' I’m like 'Deepak.' She's like 'no, and Chopra is a common name.' "

Though Deepak Chopra does have two children, Priyanka Chopra is not one of them.

The TV personality went on to say she "felt so embarrassed" and apologized to Nick Jonas and the "Chopra wife."

Late Wednesday, Chopra took to her Instagram Story to address the mix-up.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas: Couple welcomes their first baby through surrogacy: 'We are overjoyed'

She wrote: "I have never taken myself so seriously to think everyone would know who I am, or my work for that matter. But if you wanted to make a public apology for a very awkward private encounter, I think probably best to take the time to google my name before doing it or even try to reach out directly."

The 39-year-old actress added: "We ALL deserve to be respected for our unique individuality and not be referred to as 'someone' or 'wife' especially in a sincere apology. If we can learn to respect our differences in an authentic way, the world we raise our children in, will be amazing."

Chopra also noted that not all Chopras are related to "the great Deepak" just as not all Smiths are related to "the legendary Will Smith."

Chopra's father Ashok Chopra died in June 10, 2013. In June of last year, Chopra shared a throwback picture of her and her dad with the caption, "It never gets easier… love you dad."

O'Donnell shared an additional apology to TikTok Monday where she had, thanks to commenters, learned of Chopra's first name and of her insult.

"She's apparently a very well known actress and more famous than him, people were saying," she said. "Anyways Priyanka is her name … and I just want to apologize to her and to everyone that thought that was really inappropriate of me."
