Elvis' ex-wife said that Coppola "has such a big heart" and is "for women."

Priscilla Presley was all shook up over Sofia Coppola's biopic Priscilla — but after seeing the movie, she now has nothing but praise for the project.

At a Q&A event at the South Point Casino in Las Vegas on Friday, the ex-wife of Elvis Presley discussed her relationship with the movie, which is based on her 1985 memoir Elvis and Me and stars Cailee Spaeny and Jacob Elordi. "I was very concerned about this movie," Presley said. "I think it's right on, to be honest with you."

"She has such a big heart and her father is very famous and she really connected with me," Presley continued. "I have no problems with what she did in any way."

The Naked Gun actress went on to express her admiration for Coppola's artistry. "I love her filmmaking. I think she does a great job. She is for women, and when she approached me about doing a movie about me, I was moved by it," Presley, who is credited as an executive producer on the film, said. "If anyone were to do a movie, it would be for her. I would never support another movie from anyone else doing it."

Coppola told EW during a roundtable discussion that Presley had previously expressed her positive feelings toward the film. "It was really important that I felt that Priscilla felt that her story was represented in a way that was true to her," the filmmaker said. "When Priscilla first saw the final movie, the first thing she said was, 'Cailee really — that's how I felt.' She really expressed that. And she couldn't believe how Jacob's voice, she said it just sounded just so much like Elvis, so that was so gratifying to hear that from her."

Presley also approved of Baz Luhrmann's 2022 film Elvis, which she said was "beautifully done."

Presley's comments come following reports that her late daughter with Elvis, Lisa Marie Presley, had disapproved of Coppola's vision for the film upon reading a draft of the screenplay. "My father only comes across as a predator and manipulative," Lisa Marie Presley wrote in an email obtained by Variety. She added, "As his daughter, I don't read this and see any of my father in this character. I don't read this and see my mother's perspective of my father. I read this and see your shockingly vengeful and contemptuous perspective and I don't understand why?"

In one of Lisa Marie Presley's emails, Elvis' only daughter questioned her mother's judgment regarding her approval of Priscilla. "I am worried that my mother isn't seeing the nuance here or realizing the way in which Elvis will be perceived when this movie comes out," she reportedly wrote. "I feel protective over my mother who has spent her whole life elevating my father's legacy. I am worried she doesn't understand the intentions behind this film or the outcome it will have."

Priscilla is now playing in theaters.
