The last we heard from Princess Nokia, she was not too subtly hinting that Ariana Grande had jacked her flow. Now, the New York rapper is finally back with some fresh bars of her own with her new track “Sugar Honey Iced Tea (S.H.I.T.)”.
The single marks Nokia’s first new music since her A Girl Cried Red mixtape dropped in spring 2018. (She also reissued her Malibu Butterfly debut back in December.) With a beat that blends New Orleans jazz horns with gospel backing vocals, “Sugar Honey Iced Tea (S.H.I.T.)” walks in with pure confidence. Princess Nokia does the same in the accompanying video, which finds her shaking up a beauty pageant on her way to the crown. The clip co-stars fellow MC Maliibu Miitch, and pageant fans may recognize some other familiar names on the registration list.
