Princess Eugenie had an important night out in London for her charity.

On Wednesday, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s younger daughter helped host The Anti-Slavery Collective’s inaugural Winter Gala at Battersea Arts Centre, where she spoke on stage with co-founder Julia de Boinville. The friends created the organization in 2017 to combat modern slavery and trafficking and raised over $1.2 million at the party.

Princess Eugenie, 33, was supported at the event by her family and friends, which doubled as a date night for her and husband Jack Brooksbank. Queen Elizabeth's granddaughter wore a sleek black gown by Peter Pilotto (her wedding dress designer!) and posed for photos with family that stepped out to support her.

The Duchess of York smiled for pictures flanked by her daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice. Beatrice, who attended alongside her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, opted for her Self-Portrait blazer dress that she previously wore when Queen Elizabeth's grandchildren gathered for a vigil at Westminster Hall on Sept. 17, 2022.

Eugenie also posed with her cousin Zara Tindall, both grinning for the camera.

Princess Eugenie and Julia also took a picture with Brazilian model and designer Camila Alves McConaughey (who is married to Matthew McConaughey) and Spotify Chief Public Affairs Officer Dustee Jenkins.

In October, the co-founders released the second season of their podcast Floodlight, which is available on Spotify and other major podcast platforms. According to the streamer, the duo uses the weekly show to “sit down with guests from all walks of life who are helping to combat modern slavery in a variety of ways.”

“From lawmakers and company leaders to famous activists, survivors and journalists, Floodlight shows you just how prominent slavery still is and that we can all do something about it,” the profile page reads.

Another special guest at the gala was former British Prime Minister Theresa May, who appeared on Floodlight’s season 2 debut episode on Oct. 18. Eugenie and Julia launched the podcast in April 2022 to elevate the platform of The Anti-Slavery Collective, and May serves on the charity’s advisory board.

Recapping the exciting night on X on Thursday, The Anti-Slavery Collective team wrote, “WOW! What an evening,” with a heart emoji. “We would like to thank you everyone who joined us last night,” they continued, posting photos from inside — including Ed Sheeran performing on stage!

At one point during the night, Princess Eugenie sat with the “Thinking Out Loud” singer and Sofia Blunt, who attended the event with her husband, James Blunt.

Giving another peek behind the scenes, the Duchess of York, who is popularly known as Fergie, posted a photo of Princess Eugenie on stage along with a proud caption on social media.

"Stand with survivors," Fergie wrote with a heart emoji on her Instagram Story on Thursday. "I am so proud of you @princesseugenie and the incredible work @the_anti_slavery_collective is doing to raise awareness and combat modern slavery.”

The Anti-Slavery Collective estimates that there are about 50 million people in modern slavery today, and Hello! magazine reported that funds raised from the inaugural gala will benefit further raising of awareness around the issue plus "building cross sector partnerships and solutions to drive positive and lasting change".

Princess Eugenie and Julia, who describe themselves as “best friends” on their charity’s website, previously revealed that they first met on a bus during a school trip. In 2012, they traveled to India together where they visited an organization called Women's Interlink Foundation and "first became aware of modern slavery."

"We were shocked to discover the extent to which slavery still exists. In fact, there are more enslaved people today than at any other point in history and, at any one time, someone is being trafficked within a mile of where you live. We often associate slavery with chains and shackles, but modern slavery is a hidden crime that is often hard to detect," they wrote on Instagram in 2021.

The two said they became "obsessive investigators" and spent the next five years learning about the issue, deducing that the most effective way they could help was by raising awareness.

"So this became our mission," Julia and Eugenie wrote in the post. "In 2017, we proudly launched The Anti-Slavery Collective."
