Princess Eugenie Hints at Where She Stands in Prince Harry & Prince William’s Feud

It feels like Princess Eugenie has drawn a line in the sand when it comes to the family feud between Prince William and Prince Harry. She’s always been the cousin who seemed closest to the Duke of Sussex, visiting him and Meghan Markle in Montecito, California several times since they’ve moved, but her recent moves feel like a shift — at least in the public eye.
On Tuesday, Eugenie showed up to a very rainy garden party hosted by William and shared a carousel of snapshots from the event on her Instagram account. It was her caption that spoke volumes, though. “Come rain or shine, I was delighted to support my family yesterday to meet some special individuals at the Buckingham Palace Garden Party who have gone above and beyond to support their local communities and the country,” she wrote.

Eugenie wasn’t alone as her sister, Princess Beatrice, was in attendance along with Zara Tindall and Mike Tindall. Everyone looked rather happy under a sea of umbrellas on a rather gloomy London day. Her attendance, out of everyone in the royal family, was the most notable because it was confirmed by People that Prince Harry had extended invitations to everyone in the royal family to his 10th-anniversary celebration for the Invictus Games — and no one from King Charles III’s side showed up.
The Spencer family did show up for Harry, in what the Daily Mail described as the “divide in its deepest and starkest form.” The royal family was a few miles down the road at their event while Princess Diana’s siblings honored Harry’s accomplishments. While fans are not privy to how Harry and Eugenie feel at this moment, Prince Andrew’s daughter might be stuck in a no-win situation with Charles reportedly dangling royal engagements in front of her and Beatrice.
A source told the U.K. outlet that Eugenie and her sister are likely to get the call from Charles to represent the palace this summer. “He thinks that they’ve grown into very sensible, lovely women who he thinks could be a real asset. Charles is listening to his public,” the insider explained. “They have been crying out for that royal glamour that has been missing during a time when his slimmed-down monarchy is in desperate need of bulking up.” That might be why Eugenie kept her distance from Harry’s event, knowing that the call of royal duty was coming, and she had to avoid all possible headlines and controversies — she might be walking a very fine line in the family feud.
