Princess Diana's Former Butler Says Prince Harry 'Won't Miss Being a Royal': Why He's Right

The dust has begun to settle amongst the royal family, at least on the European side of the Atlantic Ocean. But that doesn't mean there still aren't reactions from people directly involved or formerly involved.

Likewise, Prince Harry's mother's former butler was asked for comment and what he thought about the former Duke of Sussex no longer being a 'royal'. His opinion was quite telling and straight to the point, but he's right. Here are the reasons that Prince Harry won't miss being a royal.

Princess Diana's Former Butler Issues Statement on Prince Harry

When Princess Diana's former butler, Paul Burrell, was asked for comment on the current situation with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle abdicating their titles, Burrell was quite concise in his response.

"I doubt he’ll miss being a royal. Yes, he was born a prince, but his long-term ambition is to be known as a humanitarian, like his mother," he shared. And this is undoubtedly true, and not just because he'll have the opportunity to do charity work, but for several other reasons, as well.

Freedom to Pursue Charitable Causes without Restrictions

It's no surprise that one of the main goals that both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have for their new lives is to continue to work through charities and even begin their own. The couple has their own vision for what they want to accomplish. However, now, they'll have the freedom to do that, without condemnation.

While they were still with the royal family, the two broke away from Prince William and Kate Middleton's charity foundation and formed their own, the Sussex Charity Foundation. This, of course, contributed to the ever-present strain between the brothers. Not having to deal with a 'big brother' mentality will allow for Harry to flourish.

Prince Harry Would Never Be King, Just a Placeholder

What was Prince Harry's role while he was directly affiliated with the royal family? Yes, he did have senior responsibilities, but truly, those could have been delegated to other high ranking members of the British aristocracy, for all practical purposes.

More than anything he worked with charities and giving back to the country and Commonwealth. Other than that, he was a pawn, a placeholder. He would never be king, at least barring unfortunate tragedies to Prince Charles and his brother, Prince William. It just didn't make sense for him to sit back in the shadows.

No More Beratement from the British Tabloids, Locally

One of the other more obvious reliefs that Prince Harry will experience is not dealing with the burden that was bestowed upon his wife, Meghan. While most of the vitriolic attacks were directed towards her, you'd have to believe, that he shouldered those hurtful times, just like any couple would.

Getting away from the incessant drama from the British tabloids will allow the young family to move on without the problems that arose and were directly inflicted by the British media.
