Princess Diana’s hack for getting out of cars is going viral on TikTok: ‘So simple but so smart’

The late Diana Frances Spencer, Princess of Wales, is going viral on TikTok, thanks to a car hack that viewers are calling “so smart.”
Etiquette instructor Katarina (@katarina.etiquette) gained over 19.7 million views, 1.3 million likes, 77,000 saves and 600 comments when she shared Lady Diana’s trick for stepping out of cars — and it’s a hack both royals and nonroyals alike could find useful.
“Did you know Princess Diana had multiple tricks how to avoid the unwanted paparazzi attention?” Katarina asks in her video caption.
“One of them was to always cover her cleavage with her clutch when exiting a car. This way she didn’t give the paparazzi anything to ‘spy on’ while maintaining an elegant posture.”
While most of us will likely never be pursued by the paparazzi, many still find the trick very helpful for elegantly stepping out of a car — especially when wearing more revealing clothes.

“me taking notes as someone who will never be famous or photographed by paparazzi,” commented @spookyvicx.
Evidence of Princess Diana using this hack was uploaded by royal news TikTok account @allacortedi, gaining over 532,000 views.
But this car hack wasn’t Princess Diana’s only trick for outsmarting paparazzi. Fan account @queen_diana_spencer shared footage of the late princess walking backward to avoid the cameras, a video that gained over 12.3 million views.
Other royal family hacks have also gone viral on the app, such as Kate Middleton’s trick for keeping her shoes from slipping: John Lewis nonslip tights.
