Her sister Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank was broadcast to three million people - but when Princess Beatrice ties the knot with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi the occasion won’t be televised.

The Duke and Duchess of York’s eldest daughter, 31, is due to marry her Italian property developer boyfriend, 37, this summer after the pair announced their engagement in September.

According to the Daily Mail, the BBC have confirmed they will not be showing live coverage of the royal event - like they did with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s nuptials in 2018.

Additionally, ITV - who showed the other York daughter walking down the aisle later that year, and Prince William and Kate Middleton in 2011 - has refused to say whether they will be showing proceedings on their channel.

It is thought that, due to the controversy surrounding Beatrice’s father Prince Andrew, 59, the event is likely to be held in private.

The BBC said it would not be streaming the occasion live, but would offer “news coverage of the wedding across our services”.

Normally the national broadcaster is offered rights to broadcast such a royal event for free.

ITV have said they won’t be commenting “until our teams are fully back in place next week”, report The Mirror.

In 2018, the wedding of Eugenie, 29, to Jack, 34, at St George’s Chapel in Windsor trebled ITV’s usual number of viewers.

According to the BBC, it gave the channel its best ratings for the time slot since the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s nuptials - sending its audience up from 19 per cent to 46 per cent.

It comes as Beatrice and Edoardo - who spent Christmas with the Queen at Sandringham - settled on early June for their big day, according to the Daily Mail.

However, it will be ensured that the occasion won’t clash with the monarch’s favourite Royal Ascot.

Her Majesty has given her blessing for her granddaughter and her fiancé to reveal the exact day for their nuptials in the New Year.

Last month, the couple celebrated their engagement with a party at the Chiltern Firehouse in London.

Guests pictured arriving at the event included Beatrice’s mum Sarah Ferguson, 60, and younger sister, however her father was not present.

The Duchess of Cambridge’s siblings, Pippa Middleton and James Middleton, also attended, together with their respective partners, James Matthews and Alizee Thevenet.

Other famous faces included James Blunt, Robert De Niro, Ellie Goulding and Robbie Williams’ wife Ayda Field, whose daughter was a bridesmaid at Eugenie’s wedding in 2018.
