Prince William is not giving any weight to the rumors about Kate Middleton’s whereabouts and wellbeing. The Prince of Wales, 41, attended the Diana Legacy Awards at the Science Museum in London, delivering a speech that so briefly mentioned his wife’s name, it would have been easy to miss.

“[Princess Diana’s] legacy is something that both Catherine and I have sought to focus on through our work, as have the 50,000 young people who have received a Diana Award over the past 25 years,” he told guests at the awards event in a speech that honored the work of his late mother, according to Page Six.

Prince Harry also spoke at the event, via Zoom, in an appearance that was reportedly strategically timed so that he wouldn’t appear on screen until after his estranged brother had left the ceremony.

William didn’t elaborate any further on his wife’s whereabouts, proving he is continuing his silence on the matter. The prince did not discuss Middleton’s mysterious surgery, her recent photoshop scandal or any of the other endless rumors about the Duchess of Cambridge.

The internet has been ablaze in recent weeks, speculating about Middleton’s wellbeing. Middleton, who has not stepped out publicly since Dec. 25 is reportedly recovering from a planned abdominal surgery that occurred in January.

The future king has maintained his busy work schedule, attending several recent events despite his wife’s health condition. A rep for William said earlier this month that the prince’s “focus is on his work and not on social media,” and that he will not address any conspiracy theories about himself or Middleton.

Those theories have only been exacerbated by a photo of Middleton and her three kids — Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5 — in celebration of UK Mother’s Day on March 10. Following the release of the photo major news agencies including the Associated Press and Reuters issued a “kill notice” to halt use of the “manipulated” photo after finding several inconsistencies that appeared to suggest the photo had been doctored.

In response, Middleton released a statement apologizing for the error. “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused,” she wrote on X. “I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C.”

However, the explanation has only furthered speculation and many royal supporters are more bewildered than ever about Middleton’s wellbeing.
