A Rift Between The Brothers?
There have been persistent rumors that there was a rift brewing between Prince William and Prince Harry for a while now in the British press. The Royal Family has been dealing with a number of difficulties lately, including Prince Andrew's connection to Jeffrey Epstein and the racist cruelty that Meghan Markle has dealt with from the tabloids, but the apparent chilliness between the formerly tight William and Harry has been a constant.
Speculation began earlier this year when the Royal Foundation, Harry and William's charitable organization, split up. According to the press release:
"These changes are designed to best complement the work and responsibilities of Their Royal Highnesses as they prepare for their future roles, and to better align their charitable activity with their new households."
Harry Says They're Growing Apart
Over the summer, there was also a persistent rumor that William had had an affair with one of his wife Kate Middleton's best friends, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley. While the rumors have started to fade, there is still a question of whether or not William's alleged infidelity could have led to the rift between the brothers, as Harry is very close with Kate and infidelity ran rampant in their parents' marriage.
Whatever the reason, Prince Harry addressed the fact that they were "on different paths" in his documentary, Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, saying:
"We’re certainly on different paths at the moment […] I’ll always be there for him and as I know, he’ll always be there for me. We don’t see each other as much as we used to because we’re so busy but I love him dearly."
A Small Gesture Of Unity
However, a small gesture on the Kensington Royal Instagram account, run by William and Kate's team about their charitable endeavors and social activities, posted about their new cause, Shout. The hotline is intended to "support people in crisis" and is part of the Royals' push to encourage mental health awareness. The caption includes a statement from William, saying:
"Catherine and I, and Harry and Meghan couldn't be more proud of what Shout has accomplished. We're hugely proud and hugely grateful to all of you for being a part of this."
Even though it was a brief reference to both the couples, people were heartened to see them working on a project together again.
William Worries About Harry
William has expressed that he worries about Harry after all that he and Meghan have been forced to deal with from the public, with a source telling US Weekly:
"William is extremely concerned about Harry and Meghan. Even though the brothers have grown apart, William still cares about Harry and is hoping that he’ll open up to him about his current struggles. William wants to be there for Harry and hates seeing him in such a bad place. Despite their differences, blood is thicker than water."
