Prince William and Kate Middleton Are Using Their Opportunity In The Spotlight
Back when they got married in 2011, Kate Middleton and Prince William were the royal rock stars of the moment. They had a fairy tale wedding watched by millions, they were young, and had the star power the royal family needed at that moment.
Their wedding was the start of one of the best periods the royal family has gone through, and they were seen as a couple of the moment.
When they welcomed their son Prince George, the world fell in love again, however, after a few years and two more kids the royal duo started to look a bit dull and stuffy.

Kate's wardrobe took on a look that was far too mature for her age, and they appeared to have lost that sparkly sheen we saw on their wedding day.
But, when Meghan Markle came on the scene and married Prince Harry, William and Kate clearly took this as a kick in their butts, and jumped into action.
The Daily Mail dubbed 2019 an "annus mirabilis" for the couple (in reference to the Queen's 1992 speech in which she described the year as an "annus horribilis.")
Despite it being a complete car crash year for the royal family, with Prince Philip's literal car accident, and Prince Andrew's sex scandal, The Duke and Duchess Of Cambridge absolutely shined.
William and Kate Will Come Out On Top For The Time Being
While it was inevitable that there would be competition between The Duke and Duchess Of Cambridge and The Duke and Duchess Of Sussex, it looks like William and Kate may come out on top (at least for the time being.)
Now that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have stepped back from their official roles within the royal family, Kate and William are able to truly shine, with the spotlight being fully upon them.
Royal commentator Kate Nicholl has spoken recently about the "boost" the Cambridges have received from "Megxit."
Prince William Hosted His First Buckingham Palace Reception
Nicholl spoke with OK! Magazine, saying, "The warm reception William and Kate received has given them a huge boost. They've stuck to the tried-and-tested approach, promoting a united Royal family and it's a success."
The royal couple recently showed up to Buckingham Palace looking absolutely regal; it was Prince William's first time hosting a reception on his own, a clear indicator of the Queen's faith in them.
However, Prince Harry was not there to support his brother, and was on a flight to Canada instead, where he would join wife Meghan and son Archie.
Prince Harry Is Most Likely Heartbroken
Nicholl claimed Prince Harry would probably feel heartbroken at what has happened recently, saying, "He might be putting a brave face on but I suspect Harry's heartbroken. He's a sensitive soul and he's a sweetheart."
She continued, "The past week must have been incredibly hard. With William busy performing Royal duties, he's not got his brother by his side right now and his father, Prince Charles, has returned to Scotland."
It's a new era for the royal family, and Prince Harry's own growing family and only time will tell how this all turns out in the future.
