King Charles III is reportedly pulling away Prince Andrew’s security detail that he privately funds out of his own pocket after the recent Jeffrey Epstein document dump. Now, it seems that Prince William and Kate Middleton might be using their royal rank to get ahold of the Duke of York’s Royal Lodge residence.

A source told the Express that the couple “welcome and support” Charles’ pending decision because they know Andrew doesn’t have the funds to provide himself with protection and maintain the upkeep of the 30-room estate. “It’s no secret that William and Kate have been trying to secure Royal Lodge for their family,” the palace insider shared. “They are in desperate need of a larger property to accommodate their household. The wheels finally seem to be in motion to remove Andrew from the property which William and Kate welcome and support wholeheartedly.

Evicting Prince Andrew from Royal Lodge had been King Charles’ 2023 intention all along after he asked Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to hand over the keys to Frogmore Cottage. The royal real estate shuffle would have moved Andrew to Frogmore and the Waleses to Royal Lodge. However, the Duke of York had a bit of a royal temper tantrum over that idea.

“The Palace originally wanted Andrew out of Royal Lodge so that the property could be renovated and prepared for new lodgers,” a second source told the U.K. outlet last year. “However, Andrew was having none of it and is adamant that he will see out the end of his lease at Royal Lodge.”

Queen Elizabeth II granted her favorite son a 75-year lease to Royal Lodge beginning in 2003, so Andrew will probably put up a fight to stay in his beloved residence. However, King Charles is realizing he needs to break his promise to his late mother about taking care of Andrew because the optics are bad for the palace. “Although the King adores his brother, he must put the monarchy first and do what’s best for the family,” they continued. “That means ensuring that Andrew never conducts another royal engagement and removing him from a rather significant royal residence on the Windsor estate.”
