Now that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s successful trip to Nigeria is over, it’s time to unpack what royal fans have learned from the visit. Anyone searching for clues should look no further than their new Sussex.com website, which chronicled the events they attended with gorgeous, colorful photos and highlights of each day — it’s like a personal diary.

The dynamic duo isn’t on social media like they were as working royals — we are still waiting for more content on American Riviera Orchard — but their official website essentially serves as a social media platform. The only thing it’s missing is the ability to comment below each post, and we all know they certainly don’t need that input from their critics. With even just a quick glance at the content they are serving up, Harry and Meghan are finding a way to mix their engaging personalities with their philanthropic ambitions.

TOPSHOT – Britain’s Prince Harry (R), Duke of Sussex, and Britain’s Meghan (L), Duchess of Sussex, take part in activities as they arrive at the Lightway Academy in Abuja on May 10, 2024 as they visit Nigeria as part of celebrations of Invictus Games anniversary.

The Invictus Games has become the easiest path for them to reach those goals. The sporting event is wildly successful, and cheering on veterans who have selflessly served their country’s military, is an organization that crosses over all political parties. The dreams that Harry and Meghan wanted to pursue while asking Queen Elizabeth II’s permission, are finally coming true. Tina Brown, author of The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor–the Truth and the Turmoil, has been one of their harshest critics over the years, but she was very complimentary of their trip to Nigeria.

“When I saw him and Meghan in Nigeria, I had a nostalgia,” she revealed to the BBC. “I felt this is what it could have been. These two, who are enormously appealing to the public and who are very good at it, were out there in Nigeria sort of looking really attractive and being appealing people.” Those kudos aren’t going to sit well with the palace because they reportedly see the Sussexes as competition in the royal space. “Charles is never going to endorse a hostile, rival royal operation on his doorstep,” the source claimed to The Daily Beast about Harry’s Invictus Games anniversary celebration last week. “Instead, Charles sent a clear message that he is not welcome to conduct official, quasi-royal events in the U.K. that distract from the monarchy’s message and agenda.”

What King Charles III is failing to see is that Harry and Meghan’s mission is finally gaining traction on a global level. They’ve had some missteps, but their popularity outside of the U.K. is hard to tamp down, and the momentum from Nigeria is only going to propel their work to the next level. Keep your eyes on Sussex.com because it’s offering clues about Harry and Meghan’s future.
