The Royals have been in a bit of a rough spot these past couple of months. So much so that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have decided to spend Christmas on their own away from the rest of The Royals. According to PopCulture, they will be spending Christmas in Canada.

Harry and Meghan are certainly a portion of The Royal Family drama. Their marriage was controversial from the start when Harry married an American and the first woman of color into The Royal Family.

Why Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Were Never Close With Kate Middleton and Prince William

It hasn't exactly been smooth sailing from there. Prince Charles didn't necessarily approve of Meghan. Meghan and Kate don't get along either.

A source told Entertainment Tonight that the couple chose Canada because Harry is a "frequent visitor to Canada over many years, and it was also home to the duchess for seven years before she became a member of the royal family. They are enjoying sharing the warmth of the Canadian people and the beauty of the landscape with their young son."

Meghan, Harry and baby Archie will be spending Christmas day with Markle's mother, Doria Ragland. They will also possibly visit Markle's close friend, Jessica Mulroney.

The Sunday Times reported that Harry and Meghan also plan on spending some time in Los Angeles during the Holidays. Archie will be able to experience America for the first time.

The same source insists that the reason for Harry and Meghan spending the holidays separate from the Royals is their love for Canada rather than the drama.

"As has been reported, their Royal Highnesses, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are spending private family time in Canada," the spokesperson said. "The decision to base themselves in Canada reflects the importance of this Commonwealth country to them both."

However, not every member of The Royal Family is thrilled about Harry and Meghan's decision. Many are upset that they won't be able to be their for Archie's first Christmas. Others are concerned about Queen Elizabeth II's and Prince Philip's health.

"Some members of the family think the couple should have considered queen and Prince Philip's advancing age," a source told Entertainment Tonight. "After all, at 93 and it being Archie's first Christmas, neither Her Majesty the Queen nor Prince Philip will be around forever."

The same source said that Prince Philip was admitted into the hospital for a preexisting condition.
