Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have shared a thoughtful tribute to service personnel.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex posted a statement in honor of Veterans' Day in the U.S. and Remembrance Day in the U.K. The special post on their Archewell website includes a solemn photo by Chris Allerton, who was the couple's wedding photographer.

In the black-and-white image, Harry and Meghan stand and face a group of military personnel, including one carrying an American flag.

"On this Veterans Day and Remembrance Day, we honor servicemembers across the world. These brave men and women, as well as their families, have made tremendous sacrifices and embody duty and service," the pair wrote.

"We are proud to work with so many organizations that support veterans and military families, including: The Invictus Games Foundation, The Mission Continues, Team Rubicon, Scotty’s Little Soldiers and The Greatest GENERATIONS Foundation. Today and every day, thank you for your service."

Last year, the duke and duchess marked Veterans' Day with a visit to the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey, where they attended a luncheon and meet-and-greet with service members across six military branches plus their spouses. At the luncheon, the couple talked about mental health, giving back in service, and the importance of community.

Prince Harry, who served in the British military for a decade and retired from service in 2015, hosted the latest Invictus Games in The Hague, Netherlands, last spring. He founded the sporting competition, which includes servicemen, servicewomen, and veterans who have suffered life-changing injuries or illnesses, in 2014.
