Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Having Business Issues Already? -- American Files To Trademark 'Sussex Royal'
Prince Harry and Megan Markle are setting up shop for their new 'financially independent' businesses away from the royal family, but they may have an issue in the U.S. after someone already trademarked their name 'Sussex Royal.'
According to a filing with the U.S. trademark office, obtained by The Blast, a gentlemen named Joel Fogelson filed for a trademark for the phrase, "Sussex Royal" earlier this month.
The filing is to sell products under the name Sussex Royal for "Communications by computer terminals; Transmission and delivery of video, audio, and data via the Internet and wireless communication networks."

We searched and it seems Meghan and Harry have not set up shop in the United States for their business. Now, there could be an issue trademarking the name they have in the UK.
Of course, the Royal couple could fight the trademark, saying it is a name they have already established online and on social media.
But, according to one report, Jared is willing to give the royals the trademark if they call asking for it. It seems, he just wants to point out how not trademarking the name is a huge oversight on their part.
If they don't call...he is planning on using it for a consulting business. Sounds like someone needs to make a phone call.
Making 'Royal Sussex' Hoodies?!
As we reported, Meghan and Harry have already filed for a trademark for 'Sussex Royal' in the United Kingdom. The filing in the UK, shows the couple applied for the trademark back on June 21, 2019, and the paperwork is being reviewed by the office.
Interestingly, the Royal couple's trademark includes clothing like hats, t-shirts, even "trousers!" The list of clothing items are "footwear; headgear; t-shirts; coats; jackets; anoraks; trousers; sweaters; jerseys; dresses; pyjamas; suits; sweatshirts; hooded tops; caps; hats; bandanas; headbands; socks; scarves and neckwear; gloves; sportswear."
The trademark followed Meghan and Harry announcement to world they were essentially quitting the Royal family duties and will split time living in Canada.

"After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment," they said in a statement.
They continued, "We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages. This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity. We look forward to sharing the full details of this exciting next step in due course, as we continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties.
