The Czech and Slovak Festival celebrates the cultural heritage of thousands of immigrants from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine and other Eastern European countries who chose to build their lives in Prince George County. Fleeing the poverty of their home nations, they sought to better their futures by helping rebuild the agricultural devastation of the post-Civil War south.

The 9th Annual Virginia Czech and Slovak Folklife Festival is sponsored by Virginia Humanities. Parking is free and transportation from parking areas to the festival grounds is available. The Heritage Center is located at 6406 Courthouse Road in Prince George. All proceeds support the work of the Heritage Center.
