We’ve been hearing a lot about how the young royals’ personalities are forming of late, from Princess Charlotte’s iconic tongue-out moment to Prince George’s special bond with his sister. But all this talk of their differing personas got us thinking: do Prince William and Kate Middleton’s kids know about their royal roles? We’ve heard that William explains it to George as if it’s “from a children’s storybook.” But with recent claims that the weight of being an heir to the throne is affecting how George carries himself, we’re curious if these royal siblings might be less in the dark than we think.
For reference, George is 6 years old, while Charlotte is 4 years old (their brother Prince Louis is only 16 months). People recently quoted an “insider” as saying this about William and Kate’s children: “George is more reserved, and Charlotte is more outgoing. Maybe it’s because he’s the heir and one day he might be King.”

We hope that George isn’t already worried about his future responsibilities at the age of 6. But at the same time, perhaps it’s best for William and Kate to raise him with the understanding that his actions will eventually carry more weight than those of other people, and teach him the importance of acting responsibly. As long as it doesn’t dampen his goofy streak, we hope George is getting all the royal training he needs.
