Prince Estate Tells Trump to Stop Playing Prince Songs at Rallies

“The Prince Estate has never given permission to President Trump or The White House to use Prince’s songs”

The Prince Estate has asked President Donald Trump to stop playing Prince’s music at his rallies. “The Prince Estate has never given permission to President Trump or The White House to use Prince’s songs and have requested that they cease all use immediately,” the Estate said in a statement. According to the Star Tribune, the message arrives in reaction to Trump’s use of “Purple Rain” at a Mississippi rally earlier this month.

Numerous artists have asked Donald Trump not to play their music at his rallies. Neil Young famously denounced Trump’s use of “Rockin’ in the Free World,” way back in 2015. More recently, Steven Tyler sent the president a cease and desist letter, asking him to stop using Aerosmith’s music at rallies.
