Here’s Prince's Epic 'SNL' 40th Anniversary After-Party Jam Session
People have talked about it for over a year but until this week no footage of the set was available. That changed yesterday when former Saturday Night Live cast member Tim Kazurinsky posted video footage of the now-legendary impromptu jam session Prince performed during the after party for SNL‘s 40th Anniversary special. Coaxed onstage by Jimmy Fallon, says Kazurinsky, the Purple One proceeded to play for nearly 7 minutes alongside several SNL stars past and present. Watch the whole thing above, and be amazed.
Saturday Night Live is putting together a Prince memorial special set to air tonight. “SNL Goodnight Sweet Prince” will be a clip show highlighting memorable Prince performances over the years. It replaces a scheduled repeat of the episode from a few weeks ago with Peter Dinklage as host and musical guest Gwen Stefani.
