Prince Charles gave a special shout-out to his grandson, Prince George, who just turned 8 years old.

Today, the Prince of Wales, 72, interrupted his normal social media feed to share a birthday tribute for the young royal on the Instagram page he shares with his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles.

Since it’s a Story (not a permanent post), it will disappear in 24 hours. But that didn’t stop us from screen-shotting the homage for our own personal enjoyment.

The post features Prince George’s eighth birthday portrait, which was originally shared on Prince William and Kate Middleton’s joint account. The caption read, “A very happy birthday to Prince George! [balloon emoji].”

In the photo, Prince George is wearing a striped polo shirt by John Lewis and navy-blue shorts by Boden. The young royal is sitting on the hood of a Land Rover Defender, which is likely a nod to his late great-grandfather, Prince Philip. (Not only did the Prince of Wales frequently drive Land Rovers, but he also custom designed his very own Defender.)

Prince George’s birthday portrait was taken by Middleton (surprise, surprise) at the Cambridge family’s Norfolk home, Anmer Hall. The caption read, “Turning eight (!) tomorrow,” along with a few emojis.

Prince George is third in line to the British throne behind his grandpa, Prince Charles, and his dad, Prince William. He has two younger siblings: Princess Charlotte (6) and Prince Louis (3).

Wishing a very happy birthday to Prince George!
