The Prince Andrew Scandal Is Causing Problems For His Daughters

The recent scandal surrounding Prince Andrew and his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein is not only taking him down, but he appears to be bringing everyone else down with him.

Like the Titanic, it appears his sinking ship doesn't have enough life boats, and the entire monarchy has been dragged down into its biggest crisis since the "annus horribilis" of 1992.

The biggest waves seem to be felt in his own immediate family, with Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice facing a huge amount of stress due to the drama.

Princesses Eugenie And Beatrice Are Leaning On Each Other

A source recently told Us Weekly's "Hot Hollywood" podcast, “Eugenie and Beatrice are really upset. They believe their dad made a huge mistake in judgment ever being associated to Jeffrey Epstein."

They continued, “The girls are leaning on each other and are being really supportive of their dad and also understand that this is something that is going to change how he is able to perform his duties moving forward. They understand the forever consequences of it.”

While it's understandable to support your family in times of crisis, calling it a "mistake in judgment," may mean the princesses don't understand the gravity of the situation any more than Prince Andrew does.

Prince Andrew Released A Statement

After stepping down from his royal duties, the Prince released a statement, saying, “It has become clear to me over the last few days that the circumstance relating to my former association with Jeffrey Epstein has became a major disruption to my family’s work and the valuable work going on in the many organizations and charities that I am proud to support. Therefore, I have asked Her Majesty if I may step back from public duties for the foreseeable future, and she has given her permission.”

Here's hoping that "for the foreseeable future" means forever. It seems unlikely that Prince Andrew will ever have the ability to resume his duties in the same way, not without many people kicking up a warranted fuss.

Does His Statement Really Express The Truth?

He concluded his statement, saying, “I continue to unequivocally regret my ill-judged association with Jeffrey Epstein. His suicide has left many unanswered questions, particularly for his victims, and I deeply sympathize with everyone who has been affected and wants some form of closure. I can only hope that, in time, they will be able to rebuild their lives. Of course, I am willing to help any appropriate law enforcement agency with their investigations, if required."

It seemed during his disastrous BBC interview that he didn't have much sympathy for his victims, and he has yet to help the FBI with their investigation. It remains to be seen if his statement will actually ring true.

What About Princess Beatrice' Wedding?

Back in September, Princess Beatrice announced her engagement to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, with plans for a wedding that will take place next year.

Her sister, Princess Eugenie had a massive wedding, similar to the one Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had, and she received widespread criticism for this, considering the fact that she is only a minor royal.

It was thought Princess Beatrice would want the same, however, after the scandal involving her father, it appears she will have to settle for something much smaller and private.

It remains to be seen how the Princesses will handle the scandal next year, but we'll be waiting to see.
