Prince Andrew Accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre to Discuss Her 'Really Scary Time' as Sex Slave in BBC Interview

The royal family may soon see more fallout, as Prince Andrew accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre will appear in a TV interview set to air Monday. Just last month, the Duke of York appeared on BBC Newsnight to discuss his polarizing friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein — and to rebut allegations made by Giuffre that Epstein forced her to have sex with Andrew when she was a teen. But now, in a long-awaited documentary airing on BBC One, Giuffre will tell her side of the story in her first British TV interview on the subject.

In the weeks since Andrew’s “car crash” of a BBC interview aired, the royal has stepped down from official duty. And, according to a source for the U.K.’s Sun, Giuffre’s documentary could only exacerbate Andrew’s precarious position in the royal family (and in the public eye). “If people thought Newsnight was a disaster for the Duke, this is really going to put the cat amongst the pigeons,” said the source, adding, “It is a fantastic program and will cause ramifications.”

In a clip of Giuffre’s Panorama interview, she recounts how being trafficked by Epstein was a “really scary time” in her life. She also seems to respond directly to Andrew’s assertion that nothing happened between them. “He knows what happened, I know what happened, and there’s only one of us telling the truth,” Giuffre says.

The Palace has vehemently denied the accusations against Andrew, calling any claims “categorically untrue.” However, the Sun’s source insists that the royal family is on edge over Giuffre’s upcoming televised appearance. “Everyone is on tenterhooks, especially after the backlash to the Duke’s Newsnight interview,” claimed the source. “No one saw the fall-out from that coming, especially the Duke.” One hard to refute piece of evidence that seems to support Guiffre’s claim is a photo showing Prince Andrew with his arm around Guiffre. While the royal camp has insinuated the picture may have been doctored, Guiffre shoots that notion down in the documentary, saying, “The people on the inside are going to keep coming up with these ridiculous excuses. Like his arm was elongated or the photo was doctored, or he came to New York to break up with Jeffrey Epstein. I mean, come on, I’m calling BS on this, because that’s what it is.”

BBC will air the documentary on BBC One at 9 p.m., or 4 p.m. EST, on Monday. Although it was originally intended to be a half-hour program, the network confirmed they’ve doubled the time to make the program one hour in length.
