One week before their wedding festivities kicked off, Prince Abdul Mateen shared an image on Instagram of himself and his fiancée to commemorate the new year. He captioned the photo, "Wishing you all the best for 2024 💫."

The sentiment was written alongside an image of the couple standing side-by-side, Mateen wearing a blue suit while Anisha smiled beside him in a cream blazer. Her hands are also crossed in front of her, showing off a large diamond engagement ring.

Their wedding will be a 10-day ceremony

Prince Mateen and Anisha are preparing to tie the knot in a lavish ceremony, marking one of the first royal weddings of 2024. The event will span 10 days, beginning on Jan. 7 and concluding on Jan. 16.

An Islamic ceremony will take place on Jan. 11, where the prince and his fiancée will exchange wedding vows at the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, according to Hello! magazine. Other festivities include a wedding reception, banquets, musical accompaniment and a parade around Brunei’s capital Bandar Seri Begawan on Jan 14.

The ceremony has the potential for some royal guests from around the globe. Prince William and Kate Middleton may be in attendance at Mateen's wedding as the Sultan was a guest at the British royal couple's wedding in 2011.
