Prime Video Celebrates A ‘Hip-Hop World’ With New Music Special

Prime Video is celebrating Hip-Hop’s global presence with a Hip-Hop World special. On Tuesday (April 9), Prime revealed that the music-focused special will debut on Prime Video on April 16. The special will explore DJ Khaled and Lola Brooke’s distinct but similar journeys as they search for inspiration worldwide.
Khaled will take viewers on a trip to Jamaica, where he’ll break down the inspiration behind his 2022 single, “These Streets Know My Name.” The veteran producer is known to show love to dancehall artists. In fact, in 2021, he united legends Buju Banton, Capleton, Barrington Levy, and Bounty Killer for “Where I Come From.”
Brooke will explore Paris with music business veteran Lenny Santiago, where she uncovers the origins of France’s Hip-Hop scene, all while checking off a bucket list item. Lenny S. serves as her tour guide as he shows off some of his favorite places in Paris while she works on her Amazon Music Original track “Touch Down in Paris.” The music special will also feature appearances from Buju Banton, Usain Bolt, Mokobe, Mr. Leggo, Jean “Biggie” Sebastian, and more.
Jason Offor and Santiago will executive produce Hip Hop World. Steven Cantor, Jamie Schutz, and Jessica Cozzetta serve as executive producers on the project. Michael Rapino, Vaughn Trudeau, and Ryan Kroft are tapped as executive producers for Live Nation Productions. Stick Figure Productions will be producing the special.
Elsewhere, Lola Brooke dropped off her debut album, Dennis’ Daughter, in November 2023. The 12-track LP featured contributions from Coi Leray, Nija, French Montana, Bryson Tiller, Latto, and Yung Miami.
