‘Price is Right’ Contestant Quits His Job While at the Wheel

It was quite the day for The Price Is Right contestant Hector, who used the nationally televised platform to let his employer know he’s moving to Australia in a month. After spinning the wheel, host Drew Carey, as he always does, asked Hector if there’s anyone he wanted to say hi to. After saying hi to his girlfriend and some women he’d met in line for the show, Hector broke the news to his (former?) employer. But he had some close calls before making it to that point.

In the bidding round, Hector had the advantage of bidding last and outbid another contestant by a dollar to make it on stage, which is fairly normal. Then playing Cliffhanger, the would be cliff jumper if Hector guessed too far off on the price, stopped $1 short of losing the game. Instead, Hector won nearly $11,000 worth of workout equipment and products.

Then at the wheel, just seconds after telling his employer he’s moving to Australia in the near future, Hector spun a 95 and made it to the Showcase Showdown. But that’s where his luck ran out. Hector lost by a difference of just $1,076.
