President Donald Trump Tweetstorm – The New Year’s Edition

UPDATED: Donald Trump must have made a New Year’s Resolution to write more of his thoughtful tweets because he obviously isn’t doing anything else with his time.

Hours after tweeting about making a deal with Nancy Pelosi about his precious wall, 45 decided to talk about gas prices. “Gas prices are low and expected to go down this year. This would be good!” he randomly wrote. Where this fits in with his current train of thought isn’t quite clear, but then again, nothing he tweets ever really has clarity, rhyme or reason — much like his buddy Kanye West.

As a master of patting himself on the back, he praised the Washington Examiner‘s headline that stated: “MAGA list: 205 ‘historic results’ help Trump make case for 2020 re-election.”

From there he cited PBS News Hour: “Kim Jong Un says North Korea will not make or test nuclear weapons, or give them to others – & he is ready to meet President Trump anytime.” He wrote, “I also look forward to meeting with Chairman Kim who realizes so well that North Korea possesses great economic potential!” The exclamation point makes it more exciting and real!

Then it was back to gas prices and more exclamation points: “Do you think it’s just luck that gas prices are so low, and falling? Low gas prices are like another Tax Cut!”

Then he closed out this tweet conniption with a jab at Democrats because that has become a favorite pastime of his. “For FAR TOO LONG Senate Democrats have been Obstructing more than 350 Nominations,” he wrote. “These great Americans left their jobs to serve our Country, but can’t because Dems are blocking them, some for two years-historic record. Passed committees, but Schumer putting them on hold. Bad!”

PREVIOUS: It’s a new year, but it’s the same old same old for President Donald Trump, who went into Twitter mode today to bash a four-star general at a TV host’s prodding, praise the inaugural speech by a right-wing leader who invoked Trump (and God) in his tweeted reply and call out Nancy Pelosi and her Democrats over border security, the government shutdown and the wall “thing.”

And away we go.

Spurred to social media action (again) by Fox News’ Laura Ingraham, POTUS this time laid in to Army Gen. Stanley McCrystal, who told ABC News on Sunday that Trump is immoral and dishonest.

Here’s what the president wrote today in retweeting Ingraham’s post:

And if you’ve ever had to fire a dog, you know just how difficult and troubling that can be. Moving on to the topic du Trump’s presidency:

Note the usual unusual casing. Didn’t Open Borders once tour with U2?

Then it was on to congratulating another newly elected far-right leader, this time being Brazil’s Jair Bolsonaro — aka “The Trump of the Tropics” — who thanked Trump in his inaugural speech and then pinned his POTUS retweet and his reply:

And finally, there was this today:

You guess is as good as any regarding the quote marks on “thing.” But at least the president was able to squeeze in a reference to a popular TV game show.
