President Donald Trump Responds To Morning News Show: Chaos? What Chaos? I’m Home Alone!

Donald Trump took issue with a Washington Post “Fake reporter” who apparently characterized the White House today as “chaotic.” How, the president seemed to reason in his 10th (and counting) Tweet of the day, can there be chaos when “there’s almost nobody in the W.H. but me….”

With a definition of “Chaos” seemingly limited to a shopping mall on a Black Friday during the Cabbage Patch Doll craze, Trump disputed his characterization of the comments of the reporter from “the Amazon Washington Post.”

“I just watched a Fake reporter from the Amazon Washington Post say the White House is ‘chaotic, there does not seem to be a strategy for this Shutdown. There is no plan.’ The Fakes always like talking Chaos, there is NONE. In fact, there’s almost nobody in the W.H. but me, and…

“….I do have a plan on the Shutdown. But to understand that plan you would have to understand the fact that I won the election, and I promised safety and security for the American people. Part of that promise was a Wall at the Southern Border. Elections have consequences!”

Trump did not share details of his “plan on the Shutdown,” nor did he specify which news program had drawn his ire today, though the Post‘s Philip Rucker recognized himself and his appearance on NBC’s Today:

The president began his Saturday tweeting with a slam at The New York Times and the claim that he “just learned” from the newspaper that the FBI began an investigation after the firing of F.B.I. director James Comey into whether Trump had been working on behalf of Russia.

The Times‘ story broke last night, getting blanket coverage on the cable news programs that Trump typically monitors.

This morning around 7 a.m., Trump tweeted, “Wow, just learned in the Failing New York Times that the corrupt former leaders of the FBI, almost all fired or forced to leave the agency for some very bad reasons, opened up an investigation on me, for no reason & with no proof, after I fired Lyin’ James Comey, a total sleaze!”

Subsequent tweets today revisited various Trump talking points – Crooked Hillary, 13 angry Democrats, Witch Hunt, FBI agents and their lovers, elections have consequences, etc. He forecasts a long shutdown unless Democrats “come back from their ‘vacations’…”

“We have a massive Humanitarian Crisis at our Southern Border,” Trump tweeted. “We will be out for a long time unless the Democrats come back from their “vacations” and get back to work. I am in the White House ready to sign!”

Here’s the president’s Saturday, abridged and so far, in tweets:
