Premiere: St4r Contemplates a Situationship on “50 Miles”

Toronto artist St4r has returned with a music video for his third single of the year, “50 miles.”

Detailing the anxieties of a situationship, “50 miles” is a vulnerable and authentic look of what it means to be all up in your feelings. Produced by Just ideas, Dyse, and Luke Gagné, “50 Miles” features a vocal sample from Ley Vara, lending an atmospheric quality to the track.

“The song is about the intrusive thoughts and restless feeling you get when you’re in the ‘talking stage’ with someone,” explains St4r. “During this time your usually overthinking, wondering what they’re doing, or wondering if they have the same intentions as you. Nonetheless you stay in the situation because you’re interested in finding out if this person is really who you thought they were.”

The music video for “50 miles” shows St4r in a car with an admittedly hilarious vanity plate that reads “U THOT.” Shot in black and white and directed by 04, it also shows him dancing with a mysterious, shadowed woman.
