Pregnant Lea Michele Highlights Her Baby Bump in Fiery Red Michael Kors Maxidress at Hope Rising Benefit 2024

Lea Michele was among the famous faces who attended the 2024 Hope Rising Benefit in New York on Thursday. The “Funny Girl” Broadway star fashioned a look that accentuated her growing baby bump. Michele is pregnant with her second child.
For the evening’s festivities, Michele went bold in a fiery red Michael Kors Collection dress with a metallic gold halter-neck embellishment from the spring 2023 ready-to-wear collection. The crepe jersey fabric of the sleeveless gown draped over Michele.

As for her accessories, Michele wore a simple gold statement Brilliant Earth Cuff bracelet and earrings. She was styled by Brian Meller, with whom she’s worked before on such occasions as the 2023 Met Gala and the 2023 Tony Awards. Meller has also worked with director Emma Seligman, Bretman Rock and Gideon Glick, among others.
For the spring 2023 rtw collection, Kors took inspiration from the 1970s and the freedom of silhouettes and fabrics. “What first turned me on about fashion was simplicity, sensuality and movement,” Kors said during a preview. “Europe didn’t celebrate the body, America celebrated the body.”
Kors also got candid about the state of the world, particularly the impact climate change has had on what people are comfortable wearing. “The weather’s nuts, climate change has changed everything,” he said. “So people in cities are comfortable wearing things that they normally would not wear in an urban situation, whether it’s a caftan, a pareo, or the barest sandals. And then when you go to the resorts, everyone’s dressed to the teeth,” said Kors.
More recently, Kors sat down for a Q&A with Derek Blasberg as part of the “Speaking of Fashion” series, presented by the St. Louis Fashion Fund in partnership with Washington University in St. Louis and Caleres. Kors opened up about what’s changed, not within the fashion world, but from his perspective as a designer. “I am much more decisive now. [Looking back] Lance [Le Pere, Kors’ husband who’s worked with him for years] and I always laugh wondering what did we do all day? Oh, we spent two hours talking about a white shirt. Now it’s like, ‘I don’t like that white shirt. Let’s move on.’ Also, thank God, the workload has gotten heavier, or I would be terribly bored. You’ve got to keep yourself engaged and excited by something new.”
