Kailyn Lowry is explaining how she went from thinking she'd be a boy mom forever to learning she'll welcome a baby girl this year.

The pregnant podcaster, 31, shared a "story time" on TikTok explaining why she ended up having two sex reveal celebrations and why the first was incorrect.

"So when I first found out I was pregnant with twins, we did the NIPT non-invasive testing. I want to say this is between like nine and ten weeks, or eight and ten weeks, something like that," she began.

"We went for the blood test and they said that if they were boys, they would pick up an XY chromosome on the test. If they were two girls, it wouldn't show and so you would know both of them were girls. However, when you get the test back, if there are any chromosomes — if there is any XY, you assume that they're both boys — I assume they were both boys," she admitted.

Lowry went on to share that her failed first gender reveal was "a complete Kail and the chaos, couldn't make that s--t up" moment.

"One of the smoke bombs didn't go off, but when I got the initial email, I opened it, and it said boy — but it didn't say boys, because obviously, you don't account for the other twin," she noted.

"So this is a little lesson for anyone who is finding out when they're pregnant with twins. If they are fraternal and there is boy-girl twins, only the boy chromosomes will show up at the test."

Lowry and boyfriend Elijah Scott went on to think that they were having boys until "we went for a scan, an ultrasound, and they were able to confirm that one was a girl."

"She didn't even really confirm. She was like, 'It looks like it, but I can't 100% confirm," she explained, adding, "Then obviously, by the 20-week anatomy scan, they were like, 'Okay, one is a girl.'"

"So that's why we didn't know from the initial email and the smoke bomb and all of that. We thought that they were both boys."

Lowry and Scott are already parents to son Rio, who celebrates his first birthday this month. Lowry also shares sons Creed, 3, and Lux, 6, with ex Chris Lopez, 9-year-old Lincoln with ex Javi Marroquin and 13-year-old son Isaac with ex Jo Rivera.

The TV star first confirmed she's expecting babies no. 6 and 7 on her podcast Barely Famous, just weeks after confirming the birth of her fifth son, Rio.

Lowry said she discovered her twin pregnancy during her birthday trip to Thailand earlier this year and got confirmation once she came home, just six weeks into the pregnancy. She shared they're due before the end of the year.

"We got the same due date as Rio's original due date. The exact same date, not a day off," she shared, adding it will be a scheduled C-section this time around due to complications in her pregnancy with Rio.

"Very on brand for us. We're going to have Irish triplets, all born in the same month."
