TANK WILLIAMS: All right, Chris, we know it doesn't take much for the internet to lose their damn minds about anything related to football. So I want to pick your brain on what I feel are the biggest overreactions of week three, and that I'm not really to jump on the hype train just yet.

CHRIS SIMMS: All right.

TANK WILLIAMS: OK, you ready? All right, number three, the Cleveland Browns are the most disappointing team in the NFL, and they are, right now, the poop emojis of past. Number two, Daniel Jones a.k.a. Danny Dimes, has totally justified Dave Gettleman's selection of him at number six in the NFL draft. And number one, Cam Newton will not start another game in Carolina. Right now, it's Kyle Allen, he's the present and he's the future.

CHRIS SIMMS: I like your list man. I mean, I really do. First off, overreaction with the whole Cleveland Browns thing. Yeah, OK, they're 1 and 2. It doesn't mean the season's over. Their defense has played really well. They were in the game, very competitive, had a chance to tie it late in the fourth quarter against the NFC defending champs.

TANK WILLIAMS: Right!

CHRIS SIMMS: So I'm not ready to go like, oh gosh, it's the poop emoji time. No, I'm with you there.

TANK WILLIAMS: Even though--

CHRIS SIMMS: Danny Dimes--

TANK WILLIAMS: --I mean, you do have to question that fourth and nine call, though. I still don't know where that came from.

CHRIS SIMMS: Well, there was a few moments of full stupidity within the game. Uh, yes, there's no doubt about that. But I'm not ready to just call it quits on Cleveland quite yet. Now, your number two, Daniel Jones? He's already justified? Mm, that's a tough one for me.

TANK WILLIAMS: Mm, OK.

CHRIS SIMMS: I might buy in-- I might buy into that hype. I might buy into that bullcrap, just because I know it's early and I know it's the Buccaneers. But man, he might have been the MVP of the preseason with what he did.

TANK WILLIAMS: True.

CHRIS SIMMS: I mean, he was really impressive, really scrutinized, too. And then the way he played and to bring them back from an 18 point deficit, and just a number of big throws and runs he had. I can deal with that one. OK?

TANK WILLIAMS: Valid points, but this is what I'm gonna say.

CHRIS SIMMS: Yeah, OK.

TANK WILLIAMS: They took him at number six, but we know that they could have gone defense, say, a Josh Allen at number six, and he probably would have still been there at number 17. So why reach at him for number six? when you can go ahead and get that defensive stallworth, and then come back and get the quarterback that you want? And that's gonna still ball out? I mean, that's--

CHRIS SIMMS: Hey, that's-- that's debatable. You're right, there is certainly that-- that aspect of it. I mean-- and you've seen their defense. I mean, it stinks. It's horrible. They can't stop anything. So there is an issue there. But I'm not gonna fault them for taking a quarterback that they wanted, and that they deemed the future guy at number six. So even though I think we could sit here and second guess and go oh, they might have got him at 17 and he'd still be there. Which, if you made me bet money, he would be too. I'm with you. I'm never going to be mad at them for taking their guy early--

TANK WILLIAMS: Yeah, and just-- their guy.

CHRIS SIMMS: --and just ending that discussion.

TANK WILLIAMS: I got you.

CHRIS SIMMS: You know what I mean?

TANK WILLIAMS: Yeah.

CHRIS SIMMS: All right, so. And then your number one? I love your number one. Because what it is-- I mean, everybody just loves to crap on Cam Newton. And Cam Newton, I mean, gosh, he's only one of the most talented quarterbacks I've ever seen in football, with like, one of the most diverse skill sets we've ever seen in the game. But it doesn't always lead to sexy numbers and, you know, 350-yard pass games and four-- four touchdown passes. No, it's not that way with Cam Newton. So now, yeah, he plays crappy the first two weeks, he's obviously banged up a little bit, I'll allow him--

TANK WILLIAMS: Exactly! He's banged up, dog, he has a hurt foot--

CHRIS SIMMS: I know!

TANK WILLIAMS: --he's just coming off the shoulder surgery, and now all of a sudden, people wanna act like he's totally healthy and playing terrible. Like, it's for a reason!

CHRIS SIMMS: No, it is for a reason, and-- and then, OK, they go to Arizona and Kyle Allen make some great throws, he does well.

TANK WILLIAMS: Yeah.

CHRIS SIMMS: But I'm not going to sit here and go, oh, yep that's the future. Let's move on from Cam Newton. I mean, only the guy who does this for the Superman chest and won the MVP three years ago, you know--

TANK WILLIAMS: Took his team to the Super Bowl.

CHRIS SIMMS: Right, had them 6 and 2 last year until he tears his shoulder. So, you know-- and he was showing last year that he was still playing at a very high level. So I don't like that, either. It's one game, and for whatever reason, Cam Newton is one of those guys that the internet and just everybody likes to kinda throw him down when we get a chance. And I guess he didn't play that good, but I'm not ready to anoint Kyle Allen the future of the Carolina Panthers yet. I know that.

TANK WILLIAMS: Absolutely. I mean, I think it's one of those things where we can still give Kyle Allen his credit was due. Because he balled his ass off against Arizona, like--

CHRIS SIMMS: Yeah.

TANK WILLIAMS: --there's no bones to pick about that. But at the same time, you can't look at the body of work that Cam has provided over his NFL career and just say, in one game, since he missed because he was hurt, that all of a sudden, like, his career is done. Come on, man. Child, please.

CHRIS SIMMS: I'm-- Come on, man. I'm glad, I'm-- like-- Tank, I like that list. That's pretty good. I mean, two out of the three, I think you hit spot on. I'm sick of the Cam Newton haters in the world. They drive me crazy. And the Cleveland Browns one, I'm with you there too.

TANK WILLIAMS: Hey, that's why I fools-- with you dog, long distance half five.

CHRIS SIMMS: Yeah. Pop!
