‘Pose’ Season 2 Gets Summer Premiere Date at FX

“Pose” Season 2 has been slated for a summer premiere at FX.

The 10-episode second season of the Ryan Murphy drama is set to return on Sunday, June 9.

As Murphy previously teased, the new season will flash forward in time to 1990 — to the day that Madonna’s hit single “Vogue” was first released. On the heels of the ballroom community establishing itself in pop culture and going mainstream, the show’s central House of Evangelista will be forced to reevaluate their goals. The new time period will see the new season set in the heart of the AIDS crisis worsens, with the reaction from a group of activists reaching a fever pitch.

“Pose,” which tells the story of the New York underground ballroom scene, made history when it premiered last year with a record number of transgender series regulars.

Mj Rodriguez, Dominique Jackson, Indya Moore, Hailie Sahar and Angelica Ross star on the series alongside Evan Peters, Kate Mara, James Van Der Beek, Billy Porter, Charlayne Woodard and newcomers Ryan Jamaal Swain, Dyllón Burnside and Angel Bismark Curiel. Season 2 will also see a special guest appearance by Broadway legend Patti LuPone.

Produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions, “Pose” is co-created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Steven Canals. Murphy and Falchuk executive produce alongside Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Alexis Martin Woodall and Sherry Marsh. Canals and Silas Howard serve as co-executive producers, and Janet Mock, Our Lady J and Erica Kay also produce.
