Portland blues icon Norman Sylvester to perform at benefit for healthcare access

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A chance to get up and move for a good cause is happening Friday evening in Southeast Portland.

Local blues legend Norman ‘Boogie Cat’ Sylvester is mixing up his Louisiana rhythm and blues with the spicy sounds of Carnaval in ‘Blues Carnaval: Rhythm & Rio,’ happening at the Aladdin Theater.

KOIN 6 News’ Ken Boddie will emcee the evening of live music and dancing to benefit Health Care for All Oregon, a nonprofit working for affordable and equitable universal healthcare systems.
