Every once in a while, a news story comes around that makes you stop and think "Wow. Maybe my life is more together than I thought." This is one such story.
Former adult film star Katrina "Lynn Pleasant" Danforth was arrested for attempting to hire a hitman to kill the father of one of her children.
That's One Way To Handle It
Danforth, 32, attempted to arrange the services of a hitman for the fee of $5,000. She paid $2,500 in cash in a "thank you card" to a man that she thought was a killer for hire. It turns out that he was an undercover cop.
Danforth has been in jail since December 19,2018, after she was detained at the Spokane International Airport in Washington.
According to the court documents, Danforth attempted to arrange these plans over the phone and via mail starting in October, identifying the intended victim as "R.H."
Facing 20 Years In Prison
According to the court document, Danforth "had specific requirements that the hitman was to accomplish," like the body being easily found and a disregard for the safety of others who lived in the house, except for her child.
Danforth pleaded guilty to "two counts of using interstate commerce facilities — using the mail and telephone lines — in the commission of murder for hire," which could include 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fee, and three years of parole per count.
She is set to appear in court again on December 2 for her sentencing.
