Porchfest returns this weekend, bringing free music to homes in historic Springfield
More than 20 historic houses in Jacksonville's Springfield neighborhood will become concert venues for an hour or so on Saturday as Porchfest returns.
What is Porchfest?
The festival, which started in 2014, sees local and regional performers doing their thing on the front porches of neighborhood homes, with fans scattered across the streets and sidewalks on lawn chairs and blankets. All performances are free.
Where is Porchfest?
This year's Porchfest takes place in an area bounded by Cottage Avenue and North Main, West 8th and Perry streets. It runs from noon to 8 p.m. Free parking is available at Bethel Church at 215 Bethel Baptist St., the Florida Department of Health office at 1214 N. Pearl St., and the FSCJ Downtown Campus at 101 W. State St. A shuttle will run between the Bethel Church and FSCJ lots and the festival's welcome center at 8th and Pearl Streets.

Can I bring my dog to Porchfest?
Dogs on a leash are welcome at the festival, which has designated "Poochfest" rest areas for them.
Will there be food at Porchfest?
An arts market, food trucks and beer vendors will be on hand. Anyone wishing to drink alcohol must get a wristband from the Welcome Center. No outside alcohol is permitted.
Who's playing at Porchfest in Jacksonville?
Most of the performers are from the Jacksonville area, representing rock, country, alternative, jazz, Latin, reggae, hip hop and bluegrass genres. Students from Springfield Middle School, the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts and Jacksonville University are on the bill, as is a Karissa Wade drag show.
Water Seed, an Orlando-based funk/soul band, headlines with a festival-closing show at 6:30 p.m.
