Popular Prince Ave. restaurant — known for empanadas and cupcakes — has closed, owner says

Viva! Argentine Cuisine — known for its empanadas and creative cupcakes — is now closed.

Gaby Lindsey, who co-owns the restaurant with her husband Jesse and was responsible for the iconic Gaby's Atomic Cupcakes creations, posted on the restaurant's social media Tuesday evening that the restaurant's last day was Saturday, Aug. 12.

"We will never forget the love and kindness our community has shown us," the post read in part. "It is with a heavy heart that I announce that Viva officially closed this past Saturday."

Lindsey noted that the owners retain the lease on the Viva property until November, so an occasional pop-up may be possible.
