A popular Italian restaurant is opening its third location in Ormond Beach this month.

Giovanni Spinosa, co-owner of the Port Orange eateries Don Giovanni and Pizza Pazza, is opening his third restaurant location – this time, in Ormond Beach. Spinosa opened his first restaurant shortly after coming to the U.S. from Italy 11 years ago, hoping to share a part of his life back home here in the States.

“Besides it being my grandpa’s name (Don Giovanni) is me trying to bring a piece of my life into the experience that people will have when people come to my place,” Spinosa said in a phone interview. “It’s a way to remember the experiences I’ve had with my family and friends when we spent time together.”

Spinosa describes his restaurants as a place to connect – a place where he is able to keep alive the recipes his own family used when they gathered together every Sunday back in Italy.

Set to open by the end of September, Spinosa hopes the new Don Giovanni will hold true to the very same ideas and feelings as his first two eateries – a place where any person, anywhere, can enjoy authentically crafted dishes, make memories with their loved ones and feel as though they have a home within his restaurant.

The new eatery, which is still under construction, will have both indoor and outdoor seating, with all of the traditional menu favorites that local customers know and love, including an array of pizza, pasta, salads and subs.

Like the two existing locations, the Ormond Beach restaurant will have many of its key ingredients, like its mozzarella, imported from Italy weekly, providing a true Italian dining experience for its guests.

The restauranteur’s ultimate wish is that customers new and returning will feel as though they’re dining at Spinosa’s family home in Italy, with the eatery’s new location serving as a charming spot for a romantic date night, solo dinner or an evening with family and friends.

“Me and my wife put our heart and soul into everything we do,” Spinosa said. “We’re very simple and very hardworking. We try to make everyone feel like they’re part of a family.”

Don Giovanni will be located at 1930 W. Granada Blvd., Suite 5 in Ormond Beach and will be open from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; 11 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday. The eatery will be closed Tuesdays.
