Beauty YouTube star NikkieTutorials posts emotional video: "I'm Coming Out."

Vlogger NikkieTutorial came out as a transgender woman in an emotional video uploaded to YouTube on Monday.

The popular beauty and makeup enthusiast posted the heartfelt and empowering video in response to being blackmailed and threatened by people to leak the information. And while she revealed that she has always wanted to share her story but "under her own circumstances, which were unfortunately taken away from her," she believes it was finally time to be honest with her fans.

"It is a brand new year. It's 2020, and I want to start the year off with the truth. I want to start the year off by finally revealing a part of my life that has made me who I am. I want to talk about a part of myself that makes me, me," she began. "It is time to be let go and be truly free. When I was younger, I was born in the wrong body, which means that I am transgender" she emotionally continued.

De Jager's candid post is the first time she's ever shared her transition story in a public space. The YouTuber, who currently has over 12 million subscribers, went on to affirm in her coming-out video that no one should live attached to a label if they don't want to. She also encouraged 'little Nikkie's' who may feel out of place, insecure or misunderstood to truly live their life like that want to and deserve.

"We need to accept each other, we need to respect each other, but most of all, we need to hear each other and understand," she tearfully said.

The 17-minute video, which has been viewed over one million times already, is full of emotion and transparency. De Jager explained she knew she was a girl since she was a child. "Growing up the number one thing -- and the thing I'm most thankful for -- is my mom. Love you mom," De Jager said.

De Jager, who has been creating beauty-related content for over a decade, is one of YouTube's most popular beauty vloggers. Since her arrival on the beauty scene, she has gone on to acquire much success. Currently, she is a Global Artistry Adviser for Marc Jacobs Beauty and she recently appeared on the hit Netflix competition show "Glow Up."

The one thing that has remained constant throughout De Jager's career, however, is her enthusiasm and passion to encourage others to be their best selves through self-love and acceptance.

"I am free, and today I get to be me," she said.
