Floridians love their golf — but couple that with food, drinks and family-friendly fun and you get... PopStroke.

The Florida-based golf, dining and entertainment concept backed by legendary golfer Tiger Woods recently announced the opening date for its PopStroke Sarasota location. Here's all you need to know about PopStroke and it's history in Florida.

What is PopStroke golf?

So, what exactly is PopStroke? According to the company's website, the answer is simple: an experience where you "Eat. Putt. Drink."

At PopStroke, there are two 18-hole putting courses designed by Tiger Woods and TGR design. There is also an app that automatically tracks players' scores so you can see how you stack up against your competitors, according to the website.

PopStroke knows all that golf can make you hungry — and thirsty. A full-service restaurant and bar is on-site offering a menu of familiar American plates such as traditional and boneless wings in various sauces, appetizers, salads and pizzas. There is also a drink menu with a selection of beers, wines and signature cocktails, as well as sodas and teas. Tip: Food can be delivered to you if you're playing a round on the course.

But that's not all, because apparently "No mini golf experience is complete without ice cream," which is why PopStroke features a separate ice cream parlor boasting a menu of 24 "premium" ice cream flavors and signature milkshakes.

PopStroke also offers birthday party and event packages to those who wish to celebrate special occasions.

PopStroke opening Southwest Florida location in Sarasota

PopStroke announced this week that its new Sarasota venue will open April 28. But it won't be exactly like its other two sisters.

The venue, between Interstate 75 and the Mall at University Town Center, is PopStroke's first two-story facility, with a rooftop bar and private event space, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reports.

Woods, who recently made an appearance at Masters, announced he created with his design team two new putting courses for PopStroke Sarasota: the Tiger Black course is meant for families and beginners while the Tiger Red course is more challenging.

What is Tiger Woods' involvement with PopStroke?

Pro golfer Tiger Woods' tie to PopStroke is through a strategic partnership, according to the company's website.

Woods' firm TGR Ventures became an investor with PopStroke Entertainment Group in October 2019, approximately six months after the first Port. St. Lucie location opened. Greg Bartoli is the company's founder.

The Port St. Lucie courses were originally designed by Jackson Kahn Golf Course Design of Scottsdale, Arizona. In August, Woods and his TGR Design team were planning to redesign the two courses in 2021, according to a TCPalm report.

Sarasota Herald-Tribune reporter Laura Finaldi and TCPalm reporter Laurie K. Blandford also contributed to this report.
