Pop Culture Jeopardy! Ordered at Prime Video, Marking Jeopardy!’s First Streaming Spinoff

Are you an expert in all things pop culture? Prime Video wants to put you to the test.

The streamer has handed a series order to Pop Culture Jeopardy!, a spinoff of the long-running syndicated game show, TVLine has learned. The Jeopardy! franchise’s first series created for streaming “combines the academic rigor of Jeopardy! with the excitement and unpredictability of pop culture,” per the official press release.

The format will look a little different than the traditional Jeopardy!, with teams of three competing in a tournament-style event and taking on categories “from Alternative Rock to The Avengers; Broadway to MMA; Gen Z to Zendaya.” Jeopardy! producer Michael Davies will serve as executive producer; a host will be named at a later date.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to collaborate with our partners at Amazon to make Prime Video the home for our new Jeopardy! spinoff series,” Sony Pictures Television president of game shows Suzanne Prete said in a statement. “With Michael Davies at the helm, Pop Culture Jeopardy! is going to be a nail biter for game show enthusiasts who can expect to see teams competing at the highest level of Jeopardy! combined with a fresh twist of pop culture Olympics for the mind… it’s going to be a must-watch for longtime viewers and new fans alike.”
