‘The Politician’: Jessica Lange To Star In Ryan Murphy’s Netflix Series
One of Ryan Murphy’s muses, Oscar winner Jessica Lange, is set as one of the female leads opposite Benjamin Platt in Murphy’s upcoming Netflix series The Politician..
Details about the plot and characters in The Politician, from Murphy and frequent collaborators Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, are being kept under wraps, but it is believe to revolve around the politician aspirations of Platt’s Payton, a wealthy Santa Barbarian, and every season will revolve around a different political race his character is involved in. Murphy will direct the pilot for The Politician, described as a one-hour comedy with social commentary.
Lange has starred in Murphy\’s American Horror Story and Feud anthology series, earning a slew of Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and earning an Emmy and Globe award. She was on hand earlier today to introduce Murphy at his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.
The Politician hails from Fox 21 TV Studios. Its cast also includes Dylan McDermott and January Jones, Zoey Deutch, Laura Dreyfuss, Lucy Boynton and newcomer Rahne Jones.
