Authorities are frantically trying to locate a 16-year-old California girl who mysteriously vanished from a campground party over the weekend.
Kiely Rodni, 16, disappeared at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Saturday from a party at Prosser Family Campground in the town of Truckee, California — about 32 miles southwest of Reno, Nevada and 20 miles north of Lake Tahoe — according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office. Approximately 100 teens and young adults were in attendance at the social gathering, officials said.
Rodni’s vehicle, a silver 2013 Honda CRV, also vanished from the campground. Her phone has been out of service since her disappearance.
Rodni’s mother issued a tearful plea begging for her daughter’s safe return on Sunday.
“We're so scared and we miss her so much, and we love her so much. And Kiely we love you and if you see this, please just, please just come home," Rodni-Nieman added. "I want nothing more than to hug you. If anybody else out there, if you know where she is, if you know anything about where she might be if you have any ideas or thoughts please come forward and share them."
It’s currently unclear whether investigators definitely suspect foul play in Rodni’s disappearance. In a statement to Sacramento Fox affiliate KTXL, the sheriff's office stated, "We are treating her disappearance as an abduction because we have not yet located her vehicle."
No further information was immediately available on Monday. Oxygen.com has reached out to Placer County Sheriff’s Office for comment.
Rodni is described as being a white female with blond hair and hazel eyes. Her estimated height is five-feet, seven inches tall and she weighs approximately 115 pounds. Rodni was last seen wearing Dickies pants, a black tank top, numerous piercings and jewelry, including a nose ring.
Law enforcement also urged the public to be on the lookout for Rodni’s Honda CRV SUV, which has California tags and the license plate 8YUR127.
Anyone with additional information regarding Rodni’s whereabouts is urged to submit an anonymous tip by calling Placer County Sheriff’s Office’s tip line at 530- 581-6320 and dialing option 7.
