Plies Brings Dawn Staley On Stage At South Carolina Concert

Dawn Staley and Plies shared their mutual fandom on stage at a recent concert. The Florida rapper shared a clip on X last Saturday (May 11) where the championship basketball coach joined him for a live performance the day before in Columbia, SC.

In the clip, Staley dances onto the stage as Plies kicks off his 2008 hit “Bust It Baby Pt 2” which features Ne-Yo.

“The Best Moment Of My Career Happened Last Night!!” wrote the 47-year-old musician with a pair of heart eye emoji. “Came To The Show Last Night W/ Me In Columbia SC! Her Coming Out To ‘Bust It Baby’ Was LEGENDARY! Watch How She Break That Thang Down!”

“The Best Person/Coach In The World! 38-0,” he added, declaring his love for the legendary athlete.

Another clip posted on Plies’ Instagram page shares additional footage of him playing Usher’s “Superstar” and serenading Staley as she dances and smiles.

“I told you coming up here, I said ‘Every time we play this motherfu**in’ song, I think about Coach right here,” he announced as the audience applauded. “And to all the motherfu**in’ people in attendance tonight, can yall help us motherfu**in celebrate Coach tonight, let’s go.”

Plies has publicly declared his admiration of not only Staley but her championship team the South Carolina Gamecocks. The “I Got Motion” rapper traveled to watch the women dominate the 2024 NCAA tournament and hoped to “To Roll The Red Carpet” for the team in their victorious return.

He even promised to continue his support for star player Kamila Cardoso as she continues her career. The former Gamecock baller was drafted as the No. 3 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, going to the Chicago Sky.

“Y’all Have A New Fan In Me!!!,” shared Plies in a congratulatory message.
