Playing House renewed for season 3, Falling Waters ordered by USA

USA renews 'Playing House' for season 3

Playing House has been renewed for a third season, USA Network announced at the Television Critics Association’s press tour on Thursday.

The comedy, which follows childhood best friends who move in together to help raise a newborn, stars Jessica St. Clair and Lennon Parham, who were on hand at the TCAs to pressure USA chief Chris McCumber to renew the show. “I will tell you something Mr. McCumber, America needs to see Keegan-Michael Key with all his clothes off,” St. Clair yelled.

“We’re really thrilled to bring it back,” McCumber said.

In other news, the network has given a series order to supernatural thriller Falling Water, which tells the story of three unrelated people who realize they’re dreaming separate portions of a common dream. Questing for something that can only be found in their subconscious, they try to use their dream worlds to further their own hidden agendas, but come to learn their real lives could be at stake. The Inception-esque project hails from the late Henry Bromell, Brotherhood’s Blake Masters and The Walking Dead’s Gale Anne Hurd.

Falling Water captivated us with its cinematic journey and unique exploration into the power of the dream world,” said Jackie de Crinis, USA’s EVP of original programming. “It is an edge-of-your seat thriller that reveals a race to control the collective conscience.”
