Play makes world premiere at NCTC this weekend

Nov. 15—North Central Texas College will present the world premiere of The Life and Times of Ignorance Christmas that has been adapted for the stage by Thom Talbott-Garcia this weekend.

The production will play in Gainesville at the First State Bank Center for the Performing Arts Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The performance Saturday will be sensory friendly. The play will perform at the Denton Campus Black Box Theater Dec. 1-2 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 3 at 2:30 p.m.

The production is directed by NCTC Drama faulty member Missy Embrey, who also serves as the production designer for the performance. The cast includes Channing Robinson, Taylor Hoyt, Thom Talbott-Garcia, Kelsee Hanks, Leslee Hanks, Ames B., Nicholas Collier, Amera Mota, James Hunter, Reese Mcelreath and Courtney Riojas.

The Life and Times of Ignorance Christmas presents 44 characters from Charles Dickens' novels come together to tell a story that is similar, but different in its own way.

"This one is a show for any season, but it does inspire that homey, warm apple cider by the fireplace feeling of Christmas," said Embrey.
