Founded outside of New Orleans in 1996, Another Broken Egg Cafe is slated to open in the former World of Beer location in the University Town Center, 3265 SW 34th St.

According to Jason Hurst, with commercial real estate firm Colliers, who handled the lease transaction with Damaris Arroyo on behalf of the landlord, the restaurant is expected to open in the 5,200-square-foot space in the third quarter of this year.

Scott Giles, of Atlantic Retail, represented Another Broken Egg Cafe in the transaction.

Now based in Orlando, the Southern-inspired breakfast, brunch and lunch spot has 19 locations in operation in Florida, including in Destin, Jacksonville, The Villages, Boca Raton and Clearwater.

Its menu features an array of breakfast and brunch classics, such as Chicken & Waffles, Shrimp 'N Grits, Classic French Toast, Huevos Rancheros and Biscuit & Gravy. The Mardi Gras Omelette comes filled with Louisiana crawfish, Gulf shrimp, andouille sausage and red peppers, and is topped with a tomato hollandaise sauce, tomatoes and green onions.

Lunch options include the Sonoma Club Sandwich, the Classic Bacon Burger and the Southwest Chop Salad.

Those looking to enjoy a brunch cocktail can select from drinks like blueberry and cranberry margaritas, a blackberry mule, spiked coffees, and various mimosas and bloody marys.

Local plans for this Oregon-based coffee concept have yet to be announced, but a development application with the city of Gainesville has been filed for property just east of the corner of Williston Road and Southwest 34th Street.

The location is next to the Gallo Car Wash currently under construction, and is directly north of the VA Medical Center Outpatient Clinic.

Started in 1992 and first franchised in 2000, Dutch Bros. has nearly 900 locations across the U.S. While there are currently no shops open in Florida, two are listed as coming soon in Davenport and Clermont.

“Fan favorites” include the Golden Eagle, a creamy breve made with bold espresso, half and half, vanilla syrup and caramel sauce, and topped with whipped cream and a caramel drizzle. As well as the Double Torture, which includes an extra shot of espresso, vanilla syrup, chocolate milk and whipped cream.

Classic coffee beverages such as the latte, Americano and cold brew also are available, as well as teas, lemonades, smoothies and shakes.

Food options are limited, with a selection of three muffins and a granola bar.
