At the very beginning of the film, we see a man, Del Griffith, boarding the cab reserved for Neal, and unfortunately for the latter, he turns out to be his traveling companion in the aircraft.
After a blizzard in Chicago delays their flight, the duo embarks on an adventurous pursuit to reach their destination and develop a more meaningful relationship with each other along the way. A major portion of the film is devoted to Neal and Del booking various kinds of automobiles, including trains, a rented car, and a bus, to arrive at their respective destinations and most of these scenes are enveloped in comedic effect, making the film an entertaining and intriguing entry in the comedy genre.
Steve Martin and John Candy star as Neal and Del, respectively. Other cast members include Laila Robins, Michael McKean, Dylan Baker, Olivia Burnette, Larry Hankin, and Matthew Lawrence, to name a few.
